　　the other 指兩個人或事物中的“另一個”,表示特指。如:

　　We stood on one side of the road and they stood on the other.

　　我們站在街這邊,他們站在那邊。

　　another著重于不定數(shù)目中的“另外一個”,表示泛指,所以常用來指至少三個中的一個。如:

　　She has taken another of my books.

　　她已經(jīng)拿了我的另外一本書。
